Post Nº5: The Story Behind the Photograph
Since I was a little girl, I used to dream
about visiting one of the most valuable living treasures in the world (according to UNESCO), The Galápagos Islands, in Ecuador. This is why when I had the
chance to plan my first trip abroad, I decided to travel there. I started to
plan the trip 6 months in advance, to avoid any last-minute issues. I arrived
at Santa Cruz Island, which is the second bigger island in the Galápagos after
Isabela Island, and I went on an excursion to
Las Tintoreras in the same afternoon. Within minutes I started to see different
types of lizards, birds, crabs, little penguins, and blue-footed boobies,
wandering freely around people all the time. After walking a couple of
kilometers, I got to Tortuga Beach and I was able to see hundreds of marine
iguanas, swimming or walking on the sand. It was a really beautiful expedition,
and this is one of the photographs that captured this amazing moment.
